Hi Travis.
I was going to repond directly to your comment, but then decided to start a seperate discussion. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts, especially as a guy in Germany.

As your specific question, "Should I be a Christian film company?" I can't imagine why you would want to pidgeonhole yourself like that. My suggestion is that you do awesome work that people look forward to seeing. If your work is an honest reflection and expression of who God has made you, then God will use your communication in any arena, secular or religious.

In my career as a fine artist, I determined that I wanted to achieve success in the secular arena first, then I would automatically have a platform in the church. It doesn't work the other way around, at least not in this country.

Well, I'm just going to throw something out there.. just to get the ball going a bit.

Here are some discussions that are rolling around in my head and I just wanted to share with you and get your feedback.
At the moment my purpose for filming... the themes I want my films to address are Love and Mercy/Grace.
I kind of see my films as a tool a catalyst for Christians to take their friends to and to engage open and honest discussions about these themes. What are your thoughts? I have yet to decide whether my company should be a full blown " christian film company" because in today's society christian has so many negative associations with it, However maybe I am to be a Christian Film company anyways and to disprove some of those associations. For example: Fireproof the new Kirk Cameron and Sherwood baptist church film is straight up Christian in context and has reached millions in the cinema. So what has it spiritually achieved? Should the success or goal of a film be to bring everyone to Christ? Through a little bit of research people will see that my company and I give back proceeds from our films and that we go and help the orphaned of the world. Facts that will hopefully instigate more questions about why I do what I do.
What I love about morally good films based around Christian themes is the fact that it gives everyone an opportunity to watch the film and hopefully open up conversations later within the relationship. What really encouraged me was a book by a YWAM missionary Ross Tooley who totally used movies in his mission work in the Phillipines. Although at that time he used old Billy Graham films. So I guess what all this babbling is really about is how should my light shine?

Lastly I believe that if we aren't praying than we really aren't tapping into God's will anyways. I would love to start some type of prayer something.
cheers from Germany

Ok, Carl suggested a few people put their thinking caps on to begin to address the question of growing a truly global movement. I trust each of you and like your ability to think missionally and strategically. I'd like to get some thinking going in this direction.
To begin, I like Carl's idea of several people putting together an outline of what they think it will take.
I will strike first by putting up the working Executive Summary of the Network (if I can figure out how).
