How Mobile Technology is a Game Changer for Developing Africa

"On average, more than one-third of the African population has a mobile plan, with some areas reaching almost two-thirds market penetration.

Non-profit organizations have seized on this unexpected opportunity to bring lifesaving health care information, quality K-12 educational curricula, and advanced farming techniques to millions. Here’s a look at some of these mobile awareness efforts."

I have been interested in following the Indian discussion.
We have moved Media Village across the city of Cape Town to a new campus. It is a strategic move to be close to and partnering with another organization called CVC media(Christ's vision) They have been strong in Radio delivered by satellite across Africa, they have also developed a system where anyone in Africa can send a SMS to them and the sender only pays local rates. Media Village is strong in video and other communication skills. Together we intend to develop new media to be delivered on medium to lower handsets as these are used by the majority of Africans and the masses in the developing world. I think we are facing an unprecedented time in history to deliver the gospel and at a fraction of the cost of traditional media.

The e-Learning Guild is hosting this mobile learning conference. If you are telling visual stories as an "educator", you may want to attend, or at least visit the Exhibitioners Hall.
