There are many short evangelical videos out there. Most of them are with good message and with good production quality. How I wish this production are made with Amharic language which my people better understand and communicate with. How the impact would be

I was planning to produce a short movie no the stories of the Bible in the local language we use here in Ethiopia. I wanted to do somehow professional movie. However, even if I secured the script and some important items ahead of time, financial challenge has been making me from proceeding. I do want you to pray for me.

Hello,
I have an idea for a non-profit ministry that I would like to share with you guys. The main idea is to Paint biblically based wall murals with non believing young adults. Last year I spent 6 months in Bangkok Thailand as a volunteer media missionary. During that time I worked on a side project that involved painting a 3 story wall mural of the 2nd coming in the Thai art style. It was an amazing experience and it became a huge witnessing opportunity. The biggest question you are probably asking yourself right now is "how is he going to get non- believing young adults involved in outreach?" The answer to that question is Jesus, I take no credit in things that are of the Spirit. What I can do is offer free painting workshops in English. English is in high demand in Asia and students are hungry to learn. I do not want to get caught up in teaching english though that is only part of the big picture. The painting workshops would operate much like a class in that we take a story from the bible like Noah's Ark and study it, research it, design it and paint it. From concept to completion the students are involved in the whole process. Jesus left us a good illustration of this when he took the food the boy offered and multiplied it. After multiplying it he handed it to his disciples and they handed it to the people. When everyone had their fill there was still 12 baskets of leftovers. Those leftovers were not wasted they were taken home by the people to share with their families. In the same way we can work together to feed those that are hungry around the world In meeting their basic need to learn english they are also being fed spiritually. The experience that they have from participating in this mural ministry will be shared with their friends and family just like the leftovers. A mural done by the community itself will mean far more to them than if done by a unknown foreigner. Although I dont doubt that the mural I did in Thailand will be used in a powerful way by God I think that if I were to do it again it would be more effective to do it this way. I am hoping that by doing something like this it can open doors for other artists to do something like this in other countries. I have a basic budget figured out but I am not to sure how to get something like this up and running. If anyone has any ideas/ suggestions/ connections it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
- Cory Goodwin

Ambrose,
You can do a search on "India" under the Members section of this site to get an idea who is interested in this part of the world.

Dear Tom,
It is a blessing to have friends like you who are able to guide people like me who have little or no knowledge of net working. You have rightly pointed out my target.
Here is what I have in mind. I hope and pray that atleast so Churches in the US, Canada, UK will take up the challenge of getting a copy or two of this film, then make copies and ask their members to get a copy for a small donation to their Church, the Church leaders may then send us a little portion of the donation to us if the Lord leads them to do so, for further work.
As the film is sub titled in English they can see how the whole film is built around the "Word" and the "Word" has the power to impact and change lives.
I will try to connect with the members of this net work who are connected to media in India.
Hey Tom, did you see the "Sargashta" promo? Did you see the actor who looks just like Rambo, they call him Pakistani Rambo.
Yours in Christ.

Hello Ambrose,
Welcome to VSN. I do know of several members of this network who are working or connected with media in India. You should be able to search on this site to find them. If not, put out a post to ask for connections.

For this film in particular, I would focus on those organizations who are specifically focused on reaching India or South Asian immigrant communities. They are your target and should have the most natural interest. The style and language of the film make it a good fit for those audiences but are probably too big a hurdle for other audiences, especially in N America.

You can reply to me directly if you'd like so this topic doesn't get too far off for this discussion group.

Blessings, Tom
