Call (12/18/08)

David: bring 4-5 experts in different fields at an event and film them and break into modules
Nathan: don’t expect to train too much, can’t be perfect, but can help people be dangerous.

Glad the quote was good for ya! I like it myself, obviously. Amazing statement from him.

Ron,

I like your daughter's quote as much as CS's.

Allen, impact the US AND the world.

Good morning group,

Scott, thanks for the quote from C.S. Lewis - cut to the marrow it does.
Oswald Chambers hit me hard with this axe this morning:
"Faith in active opposition to common sense is mistaken enthusiasm and narrow-mindedness, and common sense in opposition to faith demonstrates a mistaken reliance on reason as the basis for truth."

With all "common sense" askew in these current times it is such a privilege to participate in the "uncommon sense" of serving our Lord here and now.

I'd like to quote my daughter:
"Dad, Jesus sure rocked the world, didn't he? And we're commanded to go and rock our world for him now too. How cool is that?"

Fight the good fight!

Scott, I love the C.S. Lewis quote. Man, if that's not where we are in general as Christians, than I don't know where we are. I eagerly look forward to seeing and experiencing where God will take His people as we seek to impact the U.S. with a truly redeeming message.

Consider the words of C.S. Lewis:

"If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and to earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I suggest that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling around with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at sea. We are far too easily pleased." - From my CEO studies through www.bblforum.com
