I am a senior at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, majoring in Multimedia Production.
I recently just finished our junior year program called the Multimedia Institute (the MMI). Classes in the MMI are structured to immerse students in media - and it definitely accomplishes its purpose. I learned how to work with the Sony EX1 XDCAM, Avid and Final Cut editing software, After Effects, Flash, and many other media programs.
During summer 2009 I went on a media missions trip through ORU. My team was a first-year team, and our task was to travel and meet up with four other ORU teams and film their experiences, get interviews, shoot b-roll, and write blogs about our trip for family members and people back home to read.
Roles / Skill Sets
Camera work:
Sony EX1 XDCAM
JVC GMH100
Sony Handycam (full HD)
Editing Software:
AVID
Final Cut
My favorite thing to work with concerning media is editing software. I learned AVID during my time in the MMI, and was introduced to Final Cut in one of my classes. During my missions trip I learned Final Cut because the JVC GMH100s records its files for straight importing into Final Cut.
