Projects Worked On
My own writing and producing have won several awards, and I have professionally consulted on scores of scripts and films, most of them faith- or Bible-based.

These include big-budget feature pieces for Cru/Campus Crusade, Bethany Church in Redding, CA, and more than two dozen films entered in the annual 168 Project short-film competition. (I advised the Best Film/Best Screenplay winners in 2010, 2011 and 2012, plus several other teams in each year's top ranks.)

For five years I've also taught, consulted and mentored for the Act One Writing Program in Hollywood, and recently facilitated screenwriting workshops for The Greenhouse Productions' NextFilm Academy and Biola University.

In 2010, a Creative Screenwriting magazine survey ranked me as one of the top 15/"Cream of the Crop" script consultants in the nation, in the same ranks as Linda Seger and Michael Hauge. I've also won plaudits for print editing on such magazines as Christian History, Eternity, Together, and Facts for Faith.

Most recently, I have judged hundreds of screenplays in several international script or film competitions, both secular and faith-based.
Roles / Skill Sets
Story visionary with intricate-yet-broad plotting and character-building resources; poet-technician when it comes to visual description and dialogue; a meticulous proofreader and script-formatting geek, who can Dramatica-navigate you through the most-treacherous of story shoals.
Looking for Partners who could...
Co-write, co-develop, take consultation, brainstorm, produce, network, greenlight, etc.

Story Structure and Theme: You MUSTN'T 'Declare It'!

DO ENDURING MOVIES have “morals” or themes?

Of course, no doubt, indisputably!

Most every great and enduring movie story — consider the AFI’s top 100 or the 300-plus that Roger Ebert listed as The Great Movies — communicates some “point” or “lesson” to be considered. And typically a story won’t have any meaning OR endure at all without at least one such!!

Meaning, But Without Preaching?

But do those enduring film stories…

Needed: Grand "Arguments" Beneath Your Conflicts

AS I'VE WRITTEN elsewhere, there is a HUGE difference between mere fleeting "tales" and actual enduring "stories." Yet far too many writers, producers and even released films end up demonstrating a frustrating ignorance (or careless nonchalance) toward this difference — with much money and talent wasted on passing projects almost certain to be only "here…
