Projects Worked On

I am a fine art painter by profession. In addition I have been performing live painting events, primarily in churches, since 1990. I've coined the term "art theatre" to describe these events. Art theatre differs from "worship painting" in that art theatre is a storytelling medium. Art theatre tells the story using primarily visual means, (usually through dance, mime, movement, or in my case, paint.) Of course, conventional theatre is also a storytelling medium. However, it carries the story primarily through scripted spoken word.

My art theatre pieces (so far) do not utilize my voice at all. I think this may present interesting possibilities for cross-cultural visual communication, but to date I have had little opportunity to perform in cross-cultural settings.

2016 UPDATE: My current focus is an online children's storybook company, launched in 2014. I'm writing and illustrating storybooks for kids designed to instill and reinforce a biblical worldview. Please sign up on my website to receive updates!

You should connect with Joey O'Conner (on this network).
It would be great if the VSN community could see 1 of your videos. Do you have one you can post?

Wow Scott, thanks for YOUR encouraging words. I'm humbled - really - receiving so much input from an accomplished artist as yourself. And yes, you're in good company with that healty interest in the Kingdom of God. I think we need to spend more time taking it in to our hearts and minds. As you already know, Jesus operated from the standpoint of the Kingdom and that standpoint as well as the power and Love from the Kingdom enabled him to engage the world and be truly relevant and impacting. I look forward to seeing/reading more of your work as well. And 'Allen' is fine. And so is 'Allen Paul'. Whichever you like. I answer to both. :-)

Scott, I just read your "Kingdom of God" section on your website... amazing. They way you use language to get at the heart of the issue - I found it very moving. Thank you for that and God bless.
