Getting ready for voice over work on "The Bridge" movie in Hong Kong.

Just a note that I'm headed to Hong Kong this Monday to work on a movie we shot for Vietnam called "The Bridge". I'm just asking folks to keep this in prayer as there is a great deal of work to do in around 1 week prior to heading back to the States for my daughter's graduation from college.

We have been having difficulties with making a window burn time code DVD for the PAL film. We know how to do it but there were some problems with a tape another studio worked on. Just wish that I… Continue

Ooze Culture Article: Pot, Truth, and Videodiscs (our unlikely adventures on the indie film circuit)

TheOoze.com has a great collection of culture articles. Today they are featuring a new article I wrote about our experiences in what I call the 'excluded-middle' of Christian/Secular culture.

"In Times of Despair"

Praise God for the work taking place in the inner city of Denver, CO. Sometimes I often wonder, should we do something different, should we change service times, what is it that we should do in these times when it seems a little heavy weighted or discouraging. Well, the answer we all know is, "Press toward the goal". Paul the apostle was a great role model when it comes to perseverance and being a great encourager in times like these. You see Timothy was feeling like we do at times and Paul was… Continue

Walter Brueggemann On Visual Media In The Church

Can we have our pictures and speak about them too?

We sat down to an intimate chat with Walter Brueggemann and asked about the role of visual media in the church. As an Old Testament scholar, Dr. Brueggemann brings rich understanding to the notion of "speech." We wondered if his understanding of speech might be in conflict with our understanding of visual media. Despite our muttered ramblings, Dr.Brueggemann responded with penetrating insight, his sage wisdom infused with disarming… Continue

I WANT A NEW CHURCH

OK, this has been a long time coming but I can’t hold it in any more. I want a new church. I LOVE the church and my soul has been enriched by my church life more than anything other than my family, but I am just so dissatisfied with my experience of trying to find a local church to go to when we aren’t on the road that I want to start a conversation about it. Everywhere I go I hear the same groans from people who love the Lord and who love the church, but are agonizing over what church has… Continue
