A friend of mine just told me about a christian production company that is looking for a script in the 300k range, and wondered if I had any. "The theme of the feature film must include a strong element of Agape Love, but hopefully won't be too churchy" All genres welcome! If you think your script might be a good fit then give me a 1 pager in expanded query letter form, by tomorrow October 29th your time,(My deadline is the 30th) then I will gladly send it in to the producer.… Continue

The root word for "grace" in Latin is the same as for "free"
, as in 'no-cost'. I don't know about Greek, but feel quite confident it is similar, for that is what it means.
The whole point of God's forgiveness is that it is "free", not by anything that we can do to deserve it, to "pay" it or to atone for it - the whole price has been paid, we get out ticket for simply accepting it.
So far so good.
Yet every Worship time at my church, the screen shows me that… Continue

So I just stumbled across this website;
I don't know that much about them, but aesthetically and from a production value standpoint it is well put together. It appears that they have people's life stories who have been changed by God. Some famous, some not so famous.
A few things that I was instantly wondering about however. If the creators of this website, of this movement are wanting to "share" the gospel and tell how God has changed his or her life and can do that for… Continue

It seems now days you cant step foot inside a church without coming across some type of video equipment. Be it projectors, screens, cameras or edit equipment, the list goes on. The point is, today's church as bought into video technology in one way or another. A good number of these churches are able to hire a full or part time media guy to make sure it all happens and thats where my story begins.
To all you fellow media directors and producers, we have a tremendous responsibility.… Continue

I've been talking with many people about delivery of visual media to various audiences that are outside the 'mainstream'. I think there are many tribes of people who share some common beliefs that make them Christian, but there are many other passions that make them very different when it comes to creative things like music, art, and film. More importantly, there are tribes who might be open to spiritual stories that we are telling but are not part of our own tribe.
The question I… Continue

My strange, cross-breed video in which I teach Revelation while viewers see my painting (www.paintingrevelation.com) has been chosen by Booklist, the library review magazine, as one of their top ten religion videos of the year. The Nov 15th edition will be all about religion and spirituality. I'm very honored--and hope this is a nudge from the Lord to get to work on filming with my Acts painting.

This is the article ... it's about Lifestyle Mentoring ... same subject as my book (That Makes Two of Us) ... let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

I just picked up the book with this title that had been sitting on my shelf. The book comes from MovieGuide's Ted Baehr. I've only read the first chapter, but it looks like a very helpful read. Let me know your thoughts if you've read it.

My wife and I finally sat down and watched Fireproof. She loved it, I wasn't quite as impressed. Having competed against fireproof with one of my own films in a film festival and having personally heard from Stephen Kendrick and hearing their hearts and watching what God has done through them and their movies, I can only say praise God! However it brings me to my point of interest. I am relatively new to the idea of creating media content. I believe my main purpose is to… Continue
