Directors: Five Critical Things You Need To Do On the Set

In the old days, directors were contract players, so they were directing nearly every day of their career. But in today’s freelance film and video world, most directors aren’t shooting more than once every two or three months. As a result, many directors don’t understand how to act on a set or how to lead. Here’s five things that have made an important difference for me on a film set or in a TV studio:

1) Do your homework. Once you get to the studio, the cash register…

Translating My Name Is Sorrow

We've been given an award by an ethical bank in the UK (I know, not many left, huh?), to translate My Name Is Sorrow into Russian. This is progressing slowly.

I'm trying to raise the funding to translate the film into other 'international languages' so that people can see and hear it without mediation. I'm wanting to work on the French and Spanish translations, but I've also got offers from people to translate it into Polish and Filipino.

Check out the film…

Where Did Your Last Great Idea Happen?

There’s something about the shower that makes ideas explode in my head. Once that water hits my face, for whatever reason, the ideas start popping. Driving is similar, as well as sitting in church, on a plane, or in a waiting room. Whenever I can’t move, my brain kicks in.

Why does it matter? It matters because knowing where your ideas happen is the key to making them happen more often.  How about you? When do your best ideas happen? Listening to music? At…

The Lame Walk and the Poor Hear the Good News through Media!

by Joanne H.

"The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor." Matt. 11:5

From Chiang Mai city, our Create International DTS outreach team headed to the mountain tops, alongside a team from a local Chiang Mai Church. We visited a Karen village that they saw come to the Lord, from zero believers to now 70% being followers of Christ.

Fifteen years ago, when the…
