Visual Story Network

This is for anyone who has already or is thinking of organizing a community art event.  In 2009 my church art group partnered with the Limner Society in order to gather 12 artists for a week's community studio in order to make art and exhibit it in a public venue so we could dialogue with the public about our art and faith.  I've added a link below as a summary of that event.  If you have questions or want more information, please contact me via my VSN page.  Thanks to Kirsten and the Visual Artists group for encouraging me to post.

You're welcome Clyde.  Kirsten encouraged me to post this.  It was an amazing event, but already 3 years ago!  I'm sort of re-grouping into another community that is outside Downtown Orlando; Lake Nona, near Cru headquarters where we live.  We'll see what the LORD wants to do here.  Thanks for the encouragement.

Kirsten.  Thanks for reading about this event.  I do have more photos, but not sure how to post them to connect with the original post?  I'm still finding my way around this site.  This was the last event for now.  The Director had so many incoming events he was not able to do it again.  This was truly a "biggy".  We were all exhausted when done, but it was so well received by the art community as a whole.  I have since moved church homes, so I'm hopeful we can start on a smaller scale where I am now.  We live out of Orlando and our church is new to this community so it will be a challenge to put together a similar event.  The Art of Enduring was the 7th time we did an event; each one a little larger. This final one was the first time we made art on-site with so many invited artists to join us.  Previously we announced a theme and artists made art and sent in images for a jury to select images to show.  The previous ones also included spaces for literary, drama, dance, music and meditation and they were held in our church (which meets in a theater).  Anyway, those are a little more details.  I'll try to dig up some photos.

Yes, I know Scott.  He is so energetic and always  busy with community events!  He was part of the Art of Enduring. He is passionate about Jesus and what he does.

Talk to you later,

Phyllis, what an amazing event!

Are there any pictures you can add? The scope of this is so large!

Has there been a follow-up or repeat? Scott of Evoke Ministries has been on

our conference calls before. I know his team is heading overseas this summer.

Are you friends with him?
