Today I called one of my website hosts to discuss ways to decrease my monthly payments.
I had done that a few months ago and saved a little.
This time I was ready to prune more deeply.
What I learned was that I was paying 2 dollars a month on three sites that are rarely used.
Those domain names are gone from them and I still have the sites but with a longer URL.
Then I asked about my core package.
The name of the service listed was many years old.
The customer service agent I talked with had never heard of it.
I had begun with this company in 2002.
I was paying to host extra photos.
This was before Flickr was big.
My storage limit was 300 MB
I was at 270 MB.
I was paying 44.99 per month.
I down graded to their gold package.
I kept two domain names that are used.
My storage limit it 5 GB.
The new price is 21.99 per month.
So I pay half as much and get 15 times the storage.
How times have changed.
