Visual Story Network

Today I think I stumbled onto a little app that is going to heat up our video productions efforts! http://wistia.com/

I found wistia as a result of looking for a way to add videos to a mailchimp newsletter I wrote the other day. (If your curious: TIEN 2012 "ad video" newsletter - http://eepurl.com/fi2Gs)

With wistia we will be able to embed videos in emails, newsletters, salesforce pages etc and have insane analytics and tracking.

And then I found on twitter this great article about how wistia and viemo are challenging youtube:

I was blown away by their "transcripts" tool. http://wistia.com/product/transcripts
I can very much see this being used as a means to add clarity and search ability to online discipleship videos or sermons. They are working on being able to provide "translations of transcripts" in the near future too!

With my it "it never hurts to ask" mentality, I wrote them to see if they have a NP payment/account structure in place. They did not but offered to help us anyway!

I have bantered back and forth with with their sales VP today and aim to help them design a NP/Cause account structure that I hope is a combination of the structures put in place at animoto.com and salesforce (http://animoto.com/cause & http://www.salesforce.com/company/foundation/)

My question for you is what applications can you see in your ministry for a tool like wistia?

Keep an eye on http://wistia.com/product/tour

This has some serious potential.  I'll think about different ways it could be used.  I'm already thinking about using it in things like our courses and in promotional material.  Thanks for passing this on.

Dude, Way to step up to the plate.  Embedding videos for us would be helpful to attach shorts illustrating the various types of work people in VSN are doing.
